Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has charged Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to continue with his commitment to good governance following his re-election.
Obasanjo gave the charge during his surprise visit to Adeleke’s residence at his hometown in Ede on Sunday night.
NPO Reported that the ex-President had visited Adeleke to congratulate him over his victory at the Saturday Governorship Election.
Video shared on X captured moment Obasanjo arrived at Adeleke’s residence where he was received by the governor with dancing.
The former president, according to a statement issued by Adeleke’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, was accompanied by Otunba Fasawe.
Obasanjo, as quoted by Rasheed, prayed for further successes of the governor and urged him to continue on the path of good governance and delivery of dividends of democracy.
“Continue to deliver good governance. Continue to meet the needs of your people”, He charged the governor.
On his part, Adeleke who was surprised at the ex-president’s visit expressed his gratitude to God and the people and promised to continue to be a loyal servant of Osun people
“Baba, I thank you for this surprise visit. I promise never to disappoint God, Osun people and all lovers of democracy who made our victory possible.”, the governor told the former leader.
The Deputy Governor of the state, Prince Kola Adewusi accompanied the governor to receive the veteran national leader.
