Angry online responders have attacked the Ikeja Electric over its Valentine message to customers accusing the electricity distribution company of making life hard for people.
The company had, in its usual customary annual messaging, expressed love to its customers, wishing them love at Valentine.
Valentine is the annual celebration of love among people all over the world on February 14.
In its message, Ikeja Electricity Distribution company wrote “ At Ikeja Electric, we love love. Wishing you and yours a Valentine filled with joy and warmth.”
“Which joy? Since Monday we don have light till now at Adeniran falohun street off ogundimu iju-Ishaga, they brought it not up to 5mins yesterday they took it back.
Please what is our offense? Other street have light we don since this year,” one of the responders, Nkay Franscisa, whose X handle showed @akiayo said.
Another responder, Harley with the handle @paaygyn wrote “Naso Una advertise say make we recharge on AFCON Final’s day; light, you no give and you dey preach love. Oga, park well o.”
“Ikeja Electric, you couldn’t tell us that the
federal government doesn’t have money to buy fuel for the grid but they have money for what is not important, misplaced priorities are too much in this country.
“I have to get the news from @EndEkedcDarknes,” said another X user Kels, using the handle @kels1000994
Many other users in anger lamented the poor electricity supplies complaining that the poor service has come at a time of extreme heat.
Another user, Kuponiyi Oyedeji, with the handle @oyekuponiyi, wrote “You people can’t say you love love and we’re sleeping in Darkness everyday in Aboru, ìyànà Ipaja under Àgbàdo oke odo LCDA.
“I would love for other residents of the area to comment on this and retweet their experiences so you’d know what we are going through.”
