The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has explained reason behind his stance against the return of Senator Ireti Kinigbe as the FCT representative at the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
Wike made this known during the resumption of his monthly media parley on Monday.
The FCT Minister claimed that Kinigbe has lost her popularity in the capital city as she cited the low voters’ turnout at her polling unit during last month’s 2026 FCT Council Election.
He further dared the Senator to show any completed project she had done for the people since her election.
“I have said it more than one year ago, Senator Ireti you won’t come back as a senator.
“This I why you people don’t like those who tell you the truth. It is bitter.
“Let me tell you why. I will go to the Satellite towns and communities. Do you know her? Let her show one project not by abusing Wike.” He said.
Wike also ruled out the lawmaker’s collaboration request.
“‘I want him to be my friend.’ Is it by force?
“‘Oh I want us to collaborate.’ Collaborate what? What are we collaborating.
“Nobody says you are not a Senator. Nobody says I’m not a Minister. If you are a Minister, minister well. If you are a Senator, make sure that you do well.” He said.
