The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has charged the 2023 Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to shelve the idea of celebrating his birthday at the Internally Displaced Peoples’ (IDP) camp as part of his campaign plan to win the 2027 Presidential election.
Taunting Obi while speaking during his Thank You Tour to Abaji Area Council over the 2026 FCT Council Election victory, Wike held that the former Anambra governor’s birthday celebration at IDP camp will not secure him victory at the poll.
The FCT Minister held that the people have made up their mind with Obi having no chance in defeating President Bola Tinubu.
“Some people said it’s because of the crisis we have IDPs.
“Every time they have birthday, because of the crisis situation we find ourselves, they now go to IDP to do birthday.
“Ask them where they were coming from, were there not IDPs? Why didn’t they go there to do their birthday? Simply because they say they want to be President.
“If they like, they should three birthdays in a day, it will not help them to win because people have already made up their minds.” Wike said.
Recall that Obi had after losing the 2023 Presidential election celebrated his birthday in an IDP camp.
Born on the 19th of July 1961, the ex-Anambra governor had on the 19th of July 2023 travelled to Plateau State where he donated food items to the IDPs.
He was received in the state by Plateau State Governor, Caleb Muftwang, before proceeding to the IDP camp in Mangu area of the state.
