Says State Belongs to Tinubu
- Safiu Kehinde
The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has charged opposition parties to count Rivers state out of their stronghold as he maintained that the state belongs to President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Wike gave the charge while speaking at his monthly media parley on Tuesday.
The Minister ruled out the chances of the former Rivers Governor and Vice-Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Rotimi Amaechi, causing upset against Tinubu at the state’s poll.
He maintained that the president had, in the course of his tenure, built confidence in Rivers people.
‘In Rivers State, Amaechi will come out to say election has been rigged. I’m telling you, let nobody make mistake. If anybody is counting Rivers, go now and cancel it.
‘The only person that can count Rivers is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I am talking as a realist. I am talking because my people know.
‘Once you build confidence in people, once people trust you, they know that anything you tell them is likely to happen. And you don’t go to government without carrying people along.’ Wike said.
