*Content Creator Begs After Sharing False Information About President Tinubu, CDS, IGP, others
A content creator and Tiktoker, Destiny Ekhorutomuen, who was arrested for allegedly sharing false information on his social media platforms has begged for mercy, stating that he regrets posting fake news online.
NPO reports that Destiny was arrested on the 8th of December 2024 at Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo State.
He was alleged to have created multiple social media accounts to disseminate false and inciting content aimed at provoking the public against the Nigeria Police.
“I regret posting the fake news,
“If I had known that thing it didn’t happen I don’t post such things, I have never done anything in my life since I was born till now” he said.
The post reportedly contained a message inciting harm against President Bola Tinubu, suggesting that nails be placed on a chair to ensure his death.
The Police Spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi strongly condemned this behavior, stressing that such actions are indefensible.
He remarked, “If you want to draw the government’s attention to issues you’re dissatisfied with, is calling for the president’s death the way to do it?”
The police spokesperson also emphasized the need to exercise freedom of expression in a responsible manner and within the limits of the law.
