Nollywood actor, Femi Adebayo, and actress, Chioma Chukwuka, have both emerged winners of the Best Lead Actor and Best Lead Actress categories at the 2025 African Magic Viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA).
The duo won the prestigious awards at the event held in Lagos for their lead roles in Netflix series, Seven Doors.
Adebayo played the role of King Adedunjoye with Chukwuka playing the female lead role, Amaka.
The movie tells the story of how Adedunjoye was asked to become the King of Ilara Kingdom as the Kingship has gotten to his family lineage.
Reluctant at first, Adedunjoye eventually submitted to several persuasions and became the King.
His ascension was however followed by a lot of opposition who sought to make his tenure miserable.
Soon after he becomes King, Ilara kingdom begins to experience turmoil and trouble, and after intervention from the chief priest, he was told to open seven doors, representing seven wives to appease for the wrongs of his forefathers.
However, Seven Doors caved in at the AMVCA for Lateef Adedimeji’s ‘Lisabi: The Uprising’ which emerged as the Best Indigenous Language (West Africa).
