The Security Adviser to Kogi Government, Retired Cdr Jerry Omodara, has warned politicians in the state against politicising insecurity to destabilise the state.
Omodara gave the warning at a one-day workshop organised by his office in collaboration with the Kogi Women Empowerment Coalition (KWEC) on Tuesday in Lokoja.
The Security Adviser stressed that Kogi State was moving forward and that no individual or group would be allowed to destabilise the state.
He warned those using insecurity to destabilise the state to desist, advising them to collaborate with the government to move the state forward.
“As are about to begin political activities, you as mothers and sisters remain a force to be reckoned with.
“Remain focused, do not allow selfish individuals to divide us, as we give our unalloyed support to the government of Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Gov. Ahmed Ododo.
“It is disheartening to see that some individuals are already up in the game to divide the people of Kogi State, sowing the seeds of discord amongst the people.
“They are forming unholy alliances, dropping names of some politicians and trying to break into places. Our people can no longer be taken for granted.
“The current political settings in Kogi State have direction, which will be followed when the time comes – East, West and Central are now better informed than ever.
“I wish to remind my people of Kogi West, particularly the Okun nation that we are better under the current arrangements, and we are sure to soon get to our destination with strong alliance and partnership with other districts.
“I must warn those who are trying to use insecurity to destabilise us as a people, to desist henceforth.
“I advise them to collaborate with the state government to move the State forward.
“Let us leave here more determined to build a Kogi State that is peaceful, united, and full of renewed hope,” Omodara stated.
He commended the women of Kogi State for their unwavering support for the government and urged them to remain focused and vigilant against divisive elements.
In her remark, Mrs Stella Olobayotan, the Regional Coordinator of KWEC, urged the women to monitor the activities of their children towards building a safe, secured and peaceful society and the nation at large.
