Suspected political thug, Saheed Tanfeani, has denied being responsible for the murder of 14-year-old boy, Ezekiel Olopade, at Ilobu town in Irepodun Local Government Area of Osun State.
NPO Reported that Olopade was shot dead on Sunday by a gang of political thugs.
The father of the deceased teenager had, in a video shared on social media, accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate for the forthcoming governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, of being responsible for the death of his son.
According to the grieving father, the assailants carried out the attack in a branded APC campaign bus.
The man further alleged the thugs were led by Tanfeani.
While also confirming the incident, the Osun Police Command’s spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, mentioned the alleged involvement of Tanfeani in the tragic incident, disclosing that a manhunt has been launched in search of the suspect.
Reacting to the allegation in a video released on Monday, Tanfeani denied being responsible for the murder of the teenager.
The suspected political thug claimed to have being in Osogbo all through the day.
“May we not encounter who will like against us. I, Saheed Tanfeani, has no hands in the murder at Ilobu yesterday.
“I was in Osogbo all through yesterday. I don’t know anything about the murder. I’ve never killed anyone before. May God never allow me kill human being in my life.
“And for those who murdered someone yesterday at Ilobu and lied against me, if the person has 20 children, it will not remain one.
“I’m not a murderer. It’s members of the Accord Party that lied against me. They went to Ilobu yesterday to lie against me. I didn’t kill anyone.
“For those responsible for the murder of the boy yesterday, none of their children will survive.” He said.
Tanfeani accused the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, and the Accord Party of plot to implicate him.
He claimed to be lied against by the Accord Party.
Tanfeani further accused the party of being responsible for the murder of Olopade as he alleged presence of armed political thugs affiliated to Accord Party alongside members of the Amotekun Corps at the Irepodun LG secretariat on Friday.
“If I have any business to do at the council, I do go under my position as the E.A to the chairman of the local government.
“Please help me beg the administration of Governor Adeleke not to implicate me with what I’m not responsible for. Nigerians, please come to my aid. Rescue me from Adeleke and Kunle Honourable.
“I didn’t kill anyone. It was Amotekun and Asif, Obe, Ikankanle, Wasiu Pebo who are Accord’s thug that I learnt killed someone.
“They were the one who came to disturb the peace of the local government on Friday.
“They came with guns alongside Amotekun. They are the one who killed someone. I’m not a killer.
“And for those who killed this child, may they never have any surviving child till they leave this world.” He said.
