Police operatives deployed to the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) national headquarters in Abuja have fired teargas at Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to grant the Federal Capital Territory Minister (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, access to the party’s headquarters.
NPO earlier Reported the arrival of Wike at the Wadata Plaza amid ongoing clash between the Samuel Anyanwu-led faction of the party and supporters of the newly elected National Chairman, Kabiru Turaki.
Drama would however ensue as the FCT Minister was denied access to the complex.
Mohammed and Makinde had barricaded the entrance to theĀ Wadata Plaza with their motorcade while further standing at the entrance Wike attempted to use.
Recall that the FCT Minister was alongside Anyanwu and other members of his faction expelled by the party at its just concluded National Convention.
However Wike’s appearance had secretariat had sparked commotion as his supporters and the Turaki-led faction clashed at the entrance until the police operatives fired teargas at the crowd.
As captured in a video shared on X, Mohammed and Makinde were seen covering their noses before evacuating from the entrance as the teargas diffused the air.
