The Nigerian Police Force has commenced the enforcement of President Bola Tinubu’s directive on the withdrawal of personnel from VIP escort duties.
NPO Reported that Tinubu had last month declared the withdrawal of police personnel attached to VIPs and their redeployment to strategic areas following his declaration of nationwide security emergency.
As part of the measures of enforcing the directive, the Force Headquarters deployed officers for monitoring exercise across key locations in Lagos State.
As disclosed in a statement issued on the Force official X handle, the enforcement team deployed to areas like the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge, the Domestic Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, and several other strategic points.
They were seen checking VIP convoy for possible presence of police personnel in the vehicle.
