Following earlier disruptions caused by aviation fuel scarcity at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, Air Peace has reduced its Abuja to London flight frequency to three times weekly.
The airline announced the temporary adjustment in a statement shared on X on Saturday, saying the reduced schedule will remain in place until July 1.
According to the airline, the decision was necessary to maintain safety standards and operational reliability during the current fuel supply challenges affecting flight operations.
Prior to the adjustment, Air Peace operated daily Abuja to London flights.
Recall that NPO had earlier reported the situation at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, where frustrated passengers confronted airline officials over the delayed domestic flights.
Air Peace officials later attributed the disruption to aviation fuel scarcity, saying their supplier had run out of stock.
NPO also gathered that similar challenges were being experienced at other airports across the country as the Jet A1 shortage continues to affect airline operations.
The development is also coming days after the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, met with a delegation from the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, oil marketers, and airline operators, among others.
