A 46-year-old man, Abubakar Yusuf, a Sales Representative at MK DAAT Impex company, Ibadan, was on Wednesday, docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court over alleged N11.3 million theft.
Yusuf, however, pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Adeshina Folaranmi told the court that Yusuf committed the offence sometime in November at Bodija Market area of Ibadan.
The prosecutor told the court that the money accrued from the sale of 170 bags of rice belonging to the company.
He said the defendant sold the rice and failed to remit the proceeds to the company.
According to Folaranmi, the offence contravenes Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Oluwabusayo Osho granted the defendant bail in the sum of N5 million and two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until March 5, 2026, for hearing. NAN
