The National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has expressed his condolences to the former Kaduna State governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, over the death of his mother, Umma El-Rufai.
NPO Reported that the matriarch passed away in the early hours of Friday in Egypt after prolonged illness.
Ribadu had, in reaction to the news of Umma’s demise, put his difference with El-Rufai aside as he mourned the passing of the ex-Kaduna governor’s mother.
The NSA, is a statement issued on his X handle, recalled his encounter with the late Umma who he hailed for her motherly care.
Ribadu prayed for the forgiveness of her shortcomings and for God to strengthen the family she left behind.
“I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, the matriarch of the El-Rufai family.
“I have fond memories of shared moments with her and her motherly care.
“At a time like this, words can offer little comfort for such a profound loss.
“My heartfelt condolences to Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and the entire family.
“May Almighty Allah forgive her shortcomings, grant her eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus, and give the family the strength to bear this loss. ” Ribadu wrote.
