The immediate past Nigerian Ambassador to Togo, Debo Adesina, has hailed his late mother, Deaconess Esther Taiwo Ejide Adesina, stressing that the legacy she left behind continues to inspire others one year after she departed.
As contained in a statement released on Wednesday, Adesina, a former Editor-in-Chief and Chief Operating Officer of The Guardian newspapers, said he continues to reflect on the life led by his mother which impacted her community and her children.
In his tribute, Adesina said he keeps thinking of his mother’s enduring influence on his life, describing her as a pillar of strength, discipline, and moral guidance.
The ex-Nigerian convoy expressed deep gratitude for the values she instilled in him.
He maintained that the values have shaped his career in journalism and public service.
Adesina also emphasized the emotional weight of the anniversary, noting that “although a year has passed, her memory remains vivid and her legacy continues to inspire him daily.”
