Nabs Clergyman, Wife, Recovers 11kg of Skunk Concealed in Family’s Vehicle

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended a 40-year-old notorious drug dealer, Ayantola Omodunmomi (a.k.a Iya Elle), who was using her 11-year-old daughter for drug trafficking.
Ayantola was arrested on Wednesday at Eleta area of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
As contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the NDLEA’s spokeperson,Femi Babafemi, the suspect’s arrest followed intelligence and surveillance on how she uses her 11-year-old daughter, Anjola, to deliver illicit drugs to her customers.
At the time of her arrest, 45.6kg skunk was recovered from her warehouse.
In the same vein, NDLEA operatives nabbed a 45-year-old clergyman, Afolabi Hodonu, following discovery of 11 kilogramme blocks of skunk concealed in hidden parts of his family’s vehicle.
​Hodonu, the pastor in charge of the Celestial Church of Christ, Agonvi Sea Beach, Sakpo area of Seme border, Badagry, in Lagos state, was arrested on Thursday alongside his wife, Mrs. Success Hodonu.
The couple were apprehended at Gbaji checkpoint following a search on their Honda Pilot SUV.

The arrest of the couple followed the apprehension of a 35-year-old fake security agent Sunday Samuel, at the same checkpoint on Monday while conveying 24.5kg skunk from Seme border to Lagos.
In Adamawa state, NDLEA officers on patrol along Namtari road, Yola South on Monday intercepted a trailer marked RUW 947 XA transporting 48,000 pills of tramadol.
The truck driver, Abdulaziz Ismail Korede, was arrested while a follow-up operation led to the arrest of the recipient, Idris Adamu.
In another development, a 60-year-old woman, Idiatu Oladejo, was arrested on Wednesday with 15kg skunk in Isale Osun, Osogbo, Osun state on Wednesday.
NDLEA operatives again acting on credible intelligence raided the Itaogbolu forest, Akure, Ondo state, recovered 351 kilograms of skunk and its seeds.
The agency’s clampdown on drug trafficking further extended to Benue state where no fewer than 28,600 capsules of tramadol were seized from a 66-year-old Aminu Usman Gembu.
The suspect was arrested at Aliade area of Benue state on Wednesday.
In Edo state, a suspect Roland Owie, 37, was arrested on Monday following the raid of his warehouse at Egbanke community, Orhionmwon LGA, where 1,378 kilograms of skunk were recovered.
