Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, has received the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 Lagos Governorship Election.
This is coming barely a day after the adoption of the deputy governor as the consensus candidate of the Lagos Governance Advisory Council (GAC).
NPO Reported that the Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, the leader of the Lagos APC’s apex decision making group, had yesterday declared Hamzat as the council’s consensus candidate.
In furtherance of their adoption of Hamzat, the GAC members would on Wednesday head to the Presidential Villa in Abuja alongside the deputy governor and his principal, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
As disclosed in a post shared on X by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the council handed over Hamzat to Tinubu who formally declared him the party’s consensus candidate.
