•Mother, Doctor Argue Over Number of Babies
A woman in Lagos has accused a hospital of selling one of her newborn twins after delivery.
The incident occurred at Tip Top Hospital in the Abaranje area of Ikotun area in Lagos State where the woman claimed she gave birth to twins but was handed only one baby.
According to details shared about the incident, the woman had used the same hospital throughout her antenatal period and scans conducted during pregnancy reportedly confirmed she was carrying twins.
Sources alleged that both babies were delivered safely. However, the situation turned controversial when only one baby was presented to the family after delivery.
The woman’s husband was said to be absent during the operation however, on noticing the discrepancy, he questioned the medical team about the second baby.
However, the doctor involved has denied the allegation. The hospital insisted that the woman delivered only one baby, leading to a disagreement between both parties.
The husband later reported the matter to the police at Area N Police Station.
Following the report, the doctor and his wife were reportedly detained by officers at the Abaranje division pending investigation.
