Former Osun State Commissioner for Education, Folorunso Bamisayemi, has dumped the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Bamisayemi, who served under the administration of former governor of the state, Gboyega Oyetola, announced his withdrawal from the APC in a letter written to his Ward Chairman in Kere Ward 09, Ife South Local Government Area of the state.
As contained in the letter dated 1st of June 2026, the former House of Assembly member declared that his resignation from the APC takes immediate effect.
“I hereby resign my membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Please note that the resignation takes immediate effect.” The letter read.
Bamisayemi also extended the letter to the Ife South council chairman, Gbenga Oladokun.
NPO Reports contacted the former Commissioner to confirm the development. He however did not answer any of the calls put through to his telephone number.
Also, a text message sent to his number was not responded to as at the time of filing this report.
Known to be an ally of the former National Secretary of the APC, Iyiola Omisore, Bamisaye’s resignation has caused suspicion among APC members in the state over possible imminent defection of the former Deputy Governor of the state.
Omisore had obtained form for the governorship primaries of the party only to be disqualified by the party leadership. He had left a protests of other aspirants who expressed rejection of the process for the emergence of the party’s candidate, Bola Oyebanji.
Their protests had however fallen on deaf ears as the party went ahead to stamp the candidacy of the former Commissioner for Finance in the state.
There have been speculations that Omisore would ditch the APC and work against the party.
