Aggrieved Ogun youths have on Monday stormed the state’s government house in protest over the kidnapped Oyo school teachers and students.
The youth who joined the nationwide June 1st protest marched down to the government house in Abeokuta with placards containing inscriptions demanding the release of the kidnap victims.
Videos shared on X on Monday showed hundreds of protesters across the streets in the capital city.
Some of the protesters who addressed newsmen expressed their frustration with the spate of insecurity across the country.
“Our mothers and brothers who are still at home, come and join us and lend your voice.
“Let’s stop this child brutality. We can no longer endure it anymore. Let’s bring back those 42 kids and their teachers. Those children are innocent.” A female protester said.
Another video showed the protesters chanting in solidarity with families of the kidnapped victims as they marched across the street.
NPO Reported similar scene in Oyo state where protesters defied the early morning rainfall as they assembled at the Oyo state government house.
The protesters engaged in a scuffle with security operatives attached to the secretariat as they pressed home their demand for the release of the students and teachers kidnapped in Ahoro-Esinele Community High School, Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School, and LA Primary School all in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.
