The police have on Monday dragged a 25-year-old man who identified himself as Oscar Madaki, before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court Ibadan, for allegedly stealing phones worth N950,000.
Madaki, whose address was not disclosed is standing trial on charges bordering on conspiracy and theft
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, ASP Femi Omilana said the defendant committed the offences on June 1, at about 3.30 a.m. at Iyaganku, GRA, quarters, Ibadan.
He alleged that the defendant conspired with others to steal an iPhone 13 worth N600,000 and another Samsung phone worth N350,000.
The stolen items are said to be owned by one Toyin Ogunsola.
The offences contravene the provisions of sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Adebola Adeola granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She consequently, adjourned the case until July 27, for hearing.
