The Nigerian Army has handed over the students and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area to the Oyo State Government days after their rescue.
NPO Reported that the victims comprising of 39 students and seven teachers were on Friday rescued from the suspected Ansaru terrorists after 56 days in captivity.
Recall that the suspected terrorists had on the 15th of May, 2026, stormed the Oriire council area and carried out the multiple abduction in Ahoro-Esinele Community Grammar School, Yawota Nursery and Primary School, and LA Primary School.
Following their rescue, they were transferred to the 2 Division Military Hospital in Ibadan for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the state governor, Seyi Makinde, had during his visit to the rescued victims at the hospital hinted their possible transfer from the military facility to the state government care.
The military would, as predicted by Makinde, arrive at the government house on Monday with the rescued vicitms.
Videos shared on X showed moment the students and their teachers alighted from the bus and were ushered into the government house by officials.
They are due to be received by Makinde before being handed over to their families.
