Osun State Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, has expressed concern over alleged malfuntion of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machine at his polling unit in the ongoing Governorship Election.
Adewusi made the allegation while addressing newsmen after casting his vote at PU001, Ilode, Ward 02, Enuwa Square, Ife East Local Government Area.
The deputy governor identified the BVAS malfunction as the only problem experienced at his polling unit so far.
“The problem we are having now is that the BVAS is malfunctioning.
“I’ve just spoken to them to just call for a backup of BVAS so that this will not delay people because it is time-bound and you can see the number of crowd that is outside now.” He said.
Adewusi however commended the voters’ turnout at the poll.
He also hailed the heavy presence of security operatives in ensuring peaceful conduct of the voting exercise.
‘So far so good, it has been peaceful. The turnout has been so impressive. When I was driving down here, I can see the enthusiasm of people to exercise their franchise.
‘It has been so wonderful. The security operatives are on ground. They have been moving round to make sure that there is peace in all the polling units’ He added.
Alongside his principal, Governor Ademola Adeleke, Adewusi seeks re-election for a second term in office.
