The presidency has slammed the 2027 Nigeria Democratic Congress Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over his criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s decision to spend his Sallah holidays in Lagos.
NPO earlier Reported that Obi had faulted Tinubu’s spending of his Sallah holidays in the state.
The former Anambra state governor, in an exclusive interview with Arise TV on Wednesday, claimed that the president, being a Muslim, suppose to use the Sallah holidays as an opportunity to visit the northern part of the country and spend time with the people.
He vowed that if elected president, he will rather spend his Sallah holidays in Sokoto or Kano state than in his hometown.
‘The President, who is a Muslim, spends his Sallah in Lagos and he is a Muslim.
‘I will go to Sokoto and spend the Sallah with the Sultan and we will discuss, bring everybody together and discuss or I go to Kano.’ Obi said.
