Group Chief Executive of Oando Plc, Mr. Wale Tinubu, has said nothing gave an inkling of the coming death of the late Secretary General of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi Barkindo when they met at the presidential villa on Tuesday.
They had both attended a reception for Barkindo which was hosted by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The President had showered encomia on the former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation during the event.
Expressing shock on Wednesday after the demise of Barkindo, Tinubu said he is still in disbelief of the news of the death.
“We had many conversations and made speeches together yesterday but this (death) wasn’t one of them,” Mr. Tinubu wrote
Describing Barkindo as “:a good man” Tinubu said the death is reminder of how fragile life.
“The most profound reminder of the fragility of life is death. You were a good man who lived a great life. “Your mentorship, humility, and resilience was exemplary.
“I still can’t believe the news, but Allah knows best. Till we meet again my good friend,” he stated
