Police Operatives of the Eagle-Net Special Squad have arrested a 40-year-old suspected drug dealer, Damilola Adefuwa, with nine bags of weeds believed to be Indian hemp covered with plantain leaves.
The drug dealer was arrested during stop-and-search duty along Benin-Sapele road.
According to statement by the Delta State Police Command Spokesman,DSP Bright Edafe said the operation was led by CP Ari Muhammed Ali
He said, “On 25/8/2022 at about 1730hours, operatives of Eagle-Net Special Squad while on Aberdeen patrol duty, intercepted a sienna vehicle with reg. no. SAP 889 AA driven by one Demilola Adefuwa aged 42 years, along Benin-Sapele road.”
“As usual, they subjected the vehicle to a search during which nine bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp covered with plantain leaves for the purpose of deceiving the Police were recovered.”
Edafe further disclosed that the team arrested the suspect, exhibit recovered and investigation is ongoing.
