Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule on Wednesday, said that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi not worth buying for 10 kobo.
The governor was reacting to the recent online polls conducted for the 2023 elections that put the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi ahead of others, including the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) Bola Tinubu and the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Atiku Abubakar.
Sule, who spoke during a live interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, said online polls is quite different from practical poll.
He argued that the criticisms of Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, by the incumbent Governor Charles Soludo devalued his predecessor as a presidential candidate to less than 10 kobo.
He said Soludo is the right person to tell what happened during the period of Peter Obi in that State.
He said, “Today, the current governor of Anambra State where Peter Obi was governor is the right person who will tell what has happened during the period of Peter Obi.
“Today, I’m in a better position to tell you what Tanko Al-Makura did compared to what we see on the pages of newspapers, because I have the files and numbers in front of me.

“So, if you go to Anambra, look at what governor of Anambra (is saying). They were in the same party. It’s not that they changed parties. It’s Peter Obi that changed parties but it’s the same All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
“So, if you go and see what he is saying today about Peter Obi, you will not buy Peter Obi for 10 kobo.”
Speaking about APC’s presidential candidate,Bola Tinubu,he said there is no comparison between Tinubu and Obi, arguing that Tinubu has made the economy of Lagos better today than Anambra State.
“Now, do you have the same with Asiwaju (Tinubu) and the governors who came after him in Lagos? Is Lagos better looking today than Anambra? Is the economy of Lagos better today than Anambra? It’s like day and night. There is no comparison,” he said.
Speaking further, the governor said Nigeria’s inflation rate of 21.09% will reduce to single digit if All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, wins the 2023 presidential poll.
“Nigeria made the highest money in oil and gas in petroleum between the years 2011, 2012 and from there, it started coming down, we met about $109bn in 2011,$108bn in 2012 and from there it started coming down to about $90bn,$70bn.
“When Buhari came to power, it came to as low as $30bn that we made in the year. For the years Buhari was there, we have not seen one month where we’ve have made $60bn. Now, check and see what Buhari has done, check and see what Buhari has borrowed, compared the numbers that we have had and earned from the sale of crude oil.”
“By the time Muhammadu Buhari hands over to Asiwaju (Tinubu), we will leave the country back at 2.5 million barrels per day and inflation rate will go to single digit by the grace of God,”
Governor Sule, however, dismissed the allegation that APC is planing to rig the election adding that the party is not jiltery as being speculated by the Opposition Parties.
