The Government of Kano State, in an attempt to stave off violence has imposed a dusk to dawn curfew on the state.
The state’s Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Mallam Muhammad Garba, made the declaration in a statement issued shortly after the announcement of the results of the governorship election Monday morning.
He said the decision was to prevent hoodlums from to causing chaos in the already tensed situation. The statement asked residents to remain indoors.
