Don’t Micro-Zone Positions in APC; Ogunlewe Tells Buhari
Former Minister of Works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, on Friday advised President Muhammadu Buhari to stop micro-managing the zoning arrangements of the All Progressive Congress.
Saying this is fueling crisis more in the APC, Ogunlewe said once the president allows for a level playing field, the problems in the party would fizzle out.
“The President should stop micro-zoning these positions,” Ogunlewe said on an Arise TV programme on Friday.
Don’t micro-zone, it will destroy the party. Anybody who is interested should come about and show what you have to offer Nigerians and let Nigerians decide. We should not any pamper any candidate. Let every candidate come out and tell Nigerians what they have for Nigerians.
“Let everybody come and compete. We are ready for them.”
Asked if these current crisis would not deprive the party the opportunity to produce a presidential candidate, Ogunlewe said the leadership of the party must act now.
He said a lot lies with President Buhari adding that he has the responsibility to ensure that a good successor emerges.
