The Federal Government has said that investigations have commenced into the circumstances that led to a private jet conveying the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu which crash-landed in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
NPO Reported earlier that a plane carrying the minister and nine others had reportedly landed at the Ibadan airport but skidded off the runway into the bus allegedly catching fire in the process.
Mom has been the word from the Minister as more information confirmed the near mishap.
Tunji Oketunbi, General Manager, Public Affairs of the Accident and Investigation Bureau, told the NPO Reports that “investigation has started” in a short response to our correspondent’s inquiry on Saturday.
Oketunbi however promised to issue a more comprehensive response on the incident later.
Adelabu was appointed Minister and sworn in under the present administration.
The Minister who hails from Ibadan, contested to be governor under the Accord Party.
He had defected from the All Progressive Congress after the emergence of the winner of the party’s primaries, Teslim Folarin.
He was a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
