The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the election of the Governor of River state Siminalayi Fubara.
The apex court dismissed the appeal by the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress in the election, Mr. Tonye Cole.

Cole had appealed to the Supreme Court to quash the victory of tye Governor who contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Cole had alleged that the election was marred by irregularities and that Fubara did not validly resign his previous position as required by the law, before the election.
Both the tribunal and the Court of Appeal dismissed his case for want of merit.
