•Arrested for Hoisting Flag at State Assembly
Some daring members of the Yoruba Nation Movement on Saturday made incursion into the Government secretariat Agodi Ibadan trying to hoist their flags at the Governor’s Office and the House of Assembly.
There was tension in the entire Agodi secretariat, Government House and adjoining areas as gunshots rang out as men of the police, the Army and Amotekun battled to dislodge the agitators.
They were seen wearing military camouflage.
However while some of them were arrested, others escaped after the arrival of security agents to beef up security around the area in conjunction with security men attached to the secretariat.
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Lanrewaju Sulaiman, confirmed the presence of the Intruders but said it was not an invasion.
He however declined to give the details saying the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Fatai Owoseni was in a better position to speak on the matter.
He said Owoseni would address the issue.
Apart from hoisting the flags of the movement, NPO Reports could not confirm the other motives of the group.
Recently released Mr. Sunday Adeyemo (popularly called Sunday Igboho) is the leader of the Yoruba Nation movement.
He has the backing of some leaders like Prof Banji Akintoye.
