The late Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah was born on 3 September 1971 as the first son of seven children to Mr. & Mrs. Alphonsus Ubah in Otolo, Nnewi in Anambra State, Nigeria.
He was said to have dropped out of school because his parents could not afford to pay his fees, forcing him to leave Premier Academy, Lugbe, Abuja.
Dropping out of school, the young Ifeanyi would later learn trading where he excelled becoming the Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil, a company he founded in 2001.
Capital Oil had many outlets in the South-East areas of the country boasting one of the largests tank farms at some point.
With his name everywhere as a businessman, Ubah ventured into politics contesting for the governorship seat of Anambra state in 2014 on the platform of Labour Party. He lost.
In 2019, Ubah won the seat for the Anambra South Senatorial elections under the platform of the Young Progressive Party (YPP).
He has however defected to Nigeria’s ruling party the All Progressive Congress (APC).
He until his death still had his eyes on the governorship seat of his state with several moves towards achieving that ambition.
In 2022, Ubah survived an assassination attempt with some security operatives and other persons killed in his convoy. He escaped unhurt because his car was bulletproof.
