Human rights lawyer and solicitor to the Take-it-Back Movement, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa has asked the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun for a virtual meeting to iron out areas of concern over the impending nationwide protests.
Adegboruwa said the meeting, which the IGP had reportedly proposed was originally slated to be physical.
But Adegboruwa said the meeting should be virtual in order to make it open to many other stakeholders.
This was just as the group gave the police a list of locations where protesters are expected to converge in different parts of the country.
Locations listed by the movement are Eagle Square, Abuja; Alausa Park, Lagos, and Opposite Wema Bank, Akpakpava Lane, Benin City.
The other locations are opposite the School of Agric, Bauchi; Rosewale Filling Station, Iwo Road, Ibadan; Maiduguri Roundabout, opposite State Stadium, Damaturu, Yobe State; Rainbow Roundabout and Pantani Stadium, River and Freedom Park, Osogbo.
According to Adegboruwa, the meeting with the IGP will be led by Femi Falana, a senior advocate of Nigeria and known activist.
Also to be in attendance will be representatives of the Nigerian Bar Association.
There is a growing tension over a planned nationwide protests over the state of the country’s economy.
The Federal Government has expressed concerns over the protest saying it could be hijacked by hoodlums.
