“The pervasiveness of lies by men who should be called elders suffers a nation to shame. Sadly it is happening so frequently to my beloved country.”
Amidst controversies trailing the seizure of Nigeria’s presidential jets on a court order obtained by a Chinese firm Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co Limited, a former presidential candidate, Prof Pat Utomi, has again hit at former Governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun making veiled reference to alleged greed by those in leadership positions.
NPO Reports that Utomi had, in the wake of allegations that Amosun’s administration was responsible for the poor handling of the contractual agreements involving the Chinese company over a free trade zone investment in Ogun state, said the Chinese company was not the only victim of Amosun’s alleged breach of contractual agreements.
He had claimed that he too was a victim of Amosun when he suffered untold losses over a contractual agreement in a venture he introduced to the state.
Amosun had responded by accusing Utomi of falsehood, saying he wanted to be paid N200m in a venture he had only spent about N35m.
Utomi, in a vailed reference to Amosun and the ongoing controversy early Tuesday morning, wrote, “The prime of life passes so quickly the lucky, gifted with longevity, usually find out that it is height of lacking in wisdom not to use this season to advance that which is ennobling of the common good.
“When instant gratification lead grown men to bare faced lies that children can see through in the public sphere there then is the evidence that the generation has made the Franz Fanon choice of deciding to betray the mission of that generation.
“The pervasiveness of lies by men who should be called elders suffers a nation to shame. Sadly it is happening so frequently to my beloved country.”
The Chinese company who came to Ogun state under the administration of Otunba Gbenga Daniel, had alleged that Amosun, on assumption of office, disrupted the existing legal agreement, bringing in a new investor to claim ownership of the investment in the free trade zone project.
The company had accused Amosun unwholesome dealings leading to the stalemate in the project.
