The Nigerian Police Force is set to arraign Abia lawmaker, Alex Ikwechegh, over alleged assault on a Bolt driver, Steven Abuwatseya.
Ikwechegh’s arraignment came under the heels of his apology to Nigerians over his gross misconduct against the e-hailing cab driver.
The lawmaker, who tendered his apology at a plenary session in the House of Representatives yesterday, has, however been schdelued for arraignment.
This was confirmed by human rights lawyer and counsel to the assaulted driver, Deji Adeyanju.
Ikwechegh came under public scrutiny and condemnation after a video of him physically assaulting the Bolt driver surfaced online.
As seen in the video, the lawmaker threatened to make Abuwatseya disappear without any consequences.
He would advance to slap the driver, accusing him of being rude.
