Former Senate President and Chief Returning officer of the All Progressive Congress Presidential Primaries , Anyim Pius Anyim, has declared President Bola Tinubu the winner of the election Sunday evening.
Tinubu was announced to have defeated his opponent Stanle Osifo with over 10million votes in the election that took place across the country on Saturday.
Tinubu secured the party’s presidential ticket with a total of 10.9 million votes following the final collation of the results at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja today.
According to Anyim, Tinubu secured a total of 10,999,162 votes out of 11,015,665 votes cast.
On the other hand, Stanley Osifo recorded 16,503 votes.
“For the purpose of this election, 11,069,756 voters were acredited. 11,015,665 voters cast their votes. After the votes, I am delighted to announce on behalf of the committee that the aspirants receive the votes as follows.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR received the total number of 10,999,162 votes.
“Mr. Stanley Osifo receives 16,503 votes.” The Returning Officer said.
He thereafter declared Tinubu winner of the election and flagbearer of the party for the 2027 General Election.
“Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, it is therefore my duty as the Returning Officer of this final election to declare President Bola Ahmed Tinubu , having satisfied the requirements of the APC Constitution and guidelines and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner of the primary election.”Anyim said.
