The Lagos State Police has assured of a clampdown on motorists using military stickers and having military head gear in front of their vehicles.
This was contained in an X post by the State Police Spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin on Thursday, following reports from an X user.
The X user @Puremind__ had made report that some army officials were harassing civilians at Brown junction, Aguda Surulere.
According to him, he was pulled over for no reason and was threatened to have his time and fuel delayed by making him go round Lagos for their patrol.
“They pulled me over for no reason and their lead who wore a MP armband said he will delay me, make me follow them round Lagos for their patrol and waste my fuel.
“This is nothing but an abuse of power.” He wrote.
Responding to this, Hundeyin wrote,
“Thanks for promptly calling our attention to this. We have verified.
“The military police are moving round Lagos State to clampdown on motorists using military stickers and having military head gear in front of their vehicles.
“Lagosians are urged not to exercise fear as @LagosPoliceNG is fully there for you.”
