Governor of Abia State Alex Otti on Friday announced a N25m bounty on those responsible for the killing of men of the Nigerian Army in his state.
NPO Reported earlier that five soldiers were killed in the South East part of Nigeria during the enforcement of the sit-at-home declared by the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB.
While condoling the Army over the killing of its men, the Governor said none of those responsible will be allowed to escape.
“To underscore its resolve, the State Government is offering a N25 million (Twenty-five Million Naira) reward to anyone with useful information that could lead to the location and arrest of any of the criminals connected to the unfortunate killings, and the subsequent state of apprehension across the city of Aba and environs,” a statement by the state Commissioner for Information and Culture Okey Kanu read.
The IPOB Gunmen has on Thursday stormed the military unit at Obikabia Junction, Ogbor Hill area, and also burnt the unit as well as a patrol van parked in the unit.
