Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, and other leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have formally presented Sen. Adeola Olamilekan, popularly known as YAYI, to President Bola Tinubu, as the party’s candidate ahead of the 2027 Ogun Governorship Election.
NPO Reported that Yayi had earlier this week emerged as the governorship candidate following a consensus decision by the Ogun APC stakeholders.
The announcement of the Ogun West Senator puts paid to the ambitions of many other governorship aspirants on the platform of the party who had called on the party leaders to allow for a free and fair primaries among the competing aspirants.
In the wake of his emerge, prominent Ogun APC stakeholders led by Abiodun paid a visit to Tinubu on Friday.
The stakeholders, as disclosed in a statement issued on the Ogun Governor’s official X handle, formally handed over Yayi to the President who also doubles as the national leader of the party.
“We had the honour of formally presenting Senator Adeola Yayi to our dear President, Bola Tinubu, GCFR, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Consensus Gubernatorial Candidate for Ogun State.
The development affirmed Yayi’s candidacy ahead of the 2027 Ogun gubernatorial election.
