The lawmaker representing Osun Central Senatorial District, Olubiyi Fadeyi, popularly known as Ajagunla, has declared support for the re-election bid of Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke.
Fadeyi, former Peoples Democratic Party member who defected to the All Progressives Congress, jilted the APC’s candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, to back Adeleke after failing to secure a return ticket to the Senate under the APC.
Recall that the lawmaker had at the APC primaries suffered defeat to Kunle Adegoke, popularly known as K-Rad.
Fadeyi polled 13,138 votes as against Adegoke’s 26,655 votes.
The defeat saw him become the only lawmaker who was not returned out of the five who defected to the APC.
Having lost his return ticket, Fadeyi on Monday announced his support for Adeleke and the Accord Party ahead of the August 15 Osun Governorship Election.
His endorsement of Adeleke has widely been considered a huge boost for the governor’s re-election bid.
