The viral video of ailing Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, who was spotted at an art exhibition gallery in London have drawn the attention of the Presidency who gave update on the health condition of the minister.
NPO earlier Reported that Edun was on Wednesday spotted at the O’DA Art Gallery booth where he engaged in conversation with the facilitators of an exhibition in the gallery.
This came barely a week after he was rushed to the United Kingdom over illness.
A top government sources were said to have described Edun’s condition as “very serious.”
He was alleged to have suffered severe paralysis which may prevent him from continuing his role.
Edun however appeared much better at the gallery.
Reacting to the development in a statement issued on Wednesday evening, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the Finance Minister’s attendance of the exhibition.
Onanuga however claimed Edun was on an officially sanctioned few days rest from the rigours of his duty as against report of being on medical trip.
“Finance Minister Wale Edun visits an art exhibition in the UK.
“He is in the country for an officially sanctioned few days of rest from the rigours of managing the Nigerian economy.” The Presidency wrote.
Coupled with silence on his health concern, Onanuga also failed to disclosed the possible date for Minister’s return.
