Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has arrived in Rivers State for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Primary Election.
Amaechi arrived at the Port Harcourt International Airport in the early hours of Monday.
The former Rivers governor and presidential aspirant, according to a post shared on X by the ADC Vanguard, was received at the airport by the party’s Rivers governorship candidate, Dr. Gabriel Baritulem Pidomson, alongside party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters.
He is expected to cast his vote at his ward once the election commences.
NPO Reported that Amaechi had declared interest in the 2027 Presidential Election.
In pursuit of his ambition, the ex-minister joined forces with other opposition political leaders to adopt the ADC with the aim of unseating the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration led by President Bola Tinubu.
Amaechi purchased the party’s nomination forms and was earlier this month cleared by ADC screening committee.
He would however face stiff competition for the ADC presidential ticker as former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and Mohammed Hayatudeen.
