The Federal High Court Abuja has on Thursday granted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) the go-ahead to arrest and detain six promoters of Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX) over alleged investment fraud to the tune of over one billion dollars. Agency Report The European Commission on Wednesday imposed 700 million euros in fines on Apple and Meta, accusing them of violating EU legislation on digital markets. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has released it new economic outlook report, reversing Nigeria’s economic growth projections for 2025 and 2026. The April report was released on Tuesday during World Economic Outlook (WEO) at a press briefing at the ongoing IMF/World Bank 2025 Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C. The report cut the forecast for Nigeria’s growth to 3.0 per cent for 2025 and 2.7 per cent for 2026, from the 3.2 per cent and 3.0 per cent projection earlier stated in the January WEO update. The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has raised concerns over the persistent exchange rate fluctuations affecting trade evaluation and overall market stability. The Comptroller-General, Adewale Adeniyi, disclosed this at a Tuesday press briefing in Abuja, where he reviewed the service’s operations for the first quarter of 2025. He revealed that the NCS recorded 62 exchange rates changes between January to March 2025. Agency Report The Police Command in Rivers has confirmed the commencement of an investigation into the death of a police officer who allegedly took his own life in Port Harcourt.
