The Federal Government, through the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has closed the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu for emergency runway repairs for two weeks. The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs Obiageli Orah disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Lagos. Eagle-eyed operatives of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency have intercepted hard drugs concealed in some specially published books on Islamic religion on their way to Saudi Arabia. The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, says the FCT Administration is bridging the infrastructural gap between Abuja capital city and its rural communities. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed one dead in a building collapse in the Ojodu-Berger area, Lagos State. It also confirmed that 12 persons had been rescued so far from the rubble of the three-storey building located at No 10, Oremeta St., Ojodu-Berger, Lagos. The Police Command in Borno has arrested eight suspects for allegedly killing and secretly burying a new born baby at a private hospital in Kwatam on Baga road, Maiduguri.
