More than 430 people have died from cholera in the past month, Sudan’s health ministry says, as civil war continues to ravage the country. The number of infections has risen to about 14,000, it said in a statement. It said it was doing all it can to “combat cholera in the affected states, amid the rise in infections”. This is coming after President Bola Tinubu wrote the Senate on Tuesday, seeking the confirmation of Kekere-Ekun as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN). Demands Payment of Withheld Salary  Safiu Kehinde The Academic Staff Union of Universities has issued a 14-day strike warning ultimatum to the Federal Government over lingering issues dating as far back as 2009. This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the union’s president, Emmanuel Osodeke. He said the body is seeking the conclusion of the renegotiation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU Agreement based on the Nimi Briggs Committee’s Draft Agreement of 2021. Safiu Kehinde  The drama between former Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) took another dimension at Abuja Federal High Court on Wednesday as Bello took case to Supreme Court, demanding for the withdrawal of his arrest warrant. Agency Report  Nigeria’s premier over-the-counter exchange, National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) Plc., has projected a net income of N400 million by the end of 2024. The Chairman of NASD, Mr Kayode Falowo, announced this at the company’s 11th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday in Lagos. Falowo said the figure indicated a significant improvement from the N69.6 million loss recorded as at Dec. 31, 2023. He said that, as at Sept. 20, NASD Securities Index rose to 2,227.73 from 927.47 in December 2023, indicating 140 per cent growth.
