The Governor of Osun, Gboyega Oyetola and the opposition People’s Democratic Party on Friday traded words over the upgrade of the College of Education Ilesa to a university. The Appeal Court on Friday saved the Governor of Ebonyi State Dave Umahi and his deputy over an earlier court injunction which sacked them from office. Umahi and his Deputy, Dr. Kelechi Igwe, were sacked from office over their defection from the People’s Democratic Party to the All Progressive Congress. The suit was filed by the APC governorship candidate in the 2019 election, Senator Soni Ogbuoji and running mate, Justin Mbam. The Lagos state Government on Friday announced that tolling will resume at the popular Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge. The tolling was suspended after the violence that trailed the protests against police brutality in 2020. There have been controversies over the reopening of the tolling as residents of Lekki area of Lagos have protested. The Lagos State Government says it will divert traffic at Kayode/Ogunmokun Streets, Mushin. from April 2 until July 20 for the first phase of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit Red Line Project. The Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde, made this known in a statement signed in Lagos on Thursday.
