The government of Oyo on Wednesday said it did not seal the offices of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company over its disconnection of the government secretariat. In a statement by the Oyo State Internal Revenue Service, the government explained that the company itself is owing N400m in revenue. The House of Representatives has urged the Ministry of Petroleum Resources to probe the cause of the recent oil vessel explosion in Delta. This followed the adoption of a motion by Rep. Julius Pondi (PDP-Delta) at Wednesday’s plenary in in Abuja. Presenting the motion, Pondi said that the probe was to unearth the remote and immediate causes of the explosion to prevent a recurrence in future. The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has confirmed the sale of adulterated Premium Motor Spirit, otherwise called petrol, in some service outlets in the South-East. The Chairman of IPMAN, Enugu Depot Community, Mr. Chinedu Anyaso, while confirming the sale, said some motorists had reported cases of mechanical faults in their vehicles after buying petrol in the area. The management of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company has accused Governor Seyi Makinde of sealing its office as a retaliation for the disconnection of the power at the Government buildings.
