A former Minister of Justice in Nigeria, Kanu Agabi, SAN, has formally withdrawn from representing leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu. This followed Kanu’s decision to take over his own defence before Justice James Omotosho, in his court Kanu is facing trial. The development took place Thursday morning as Kanu was brought to court to open his defence. Exercising the powers vested in him through the National Council of State on Thursday, President Bola Tinubu granted pardon to many Nigerians who had convicted, executed, or sentenced for one offence or another.
