At least, 35 victims of human trafficking have been rescued by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons. The 35 victims of alleged human trafficking were rescued from Niger Republic. The Zonal Coordinator of the Agency in Kano, Mr. Abdullahi Babale, made this known in an interview with the in Kano on Friday. Babele said that the rescued victims were handed over to the Nigerian Immigration Service and transferred to NAPTIP at Kongolam International Border Post, Maiadua in Katsina State. The death has occurred of the National Publicity Secretary of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Emmanuel Yawe. Yawe reportedly died after a sickness that had seen him in and out of the hospital. The Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba has banned the use of unapproved uniforms and other outfits by the police during any operations. Specifically, the police boss insisted that all personnel on patrol must be in uniforms and must wear nametags. The Nigerian Army on Friday announced the relocation of its Directorate of Physical Training from Chindit Barracks, Zaria to Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment, Abuja. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Farouk Yahaya said this during the inauguration of the Headquarters Complex of the Directorate of Army Physical Training in Abuja. Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, has estimated cumulative investments in the 30 years of operations of the free zone scheme in Nigeria at $20 billion. The minister stated this at the official commissioning of the Nigeria Exports Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) Lagos office named after him on Friday.
